Education and Experience
Dr. Jared Gelband received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in biology. He earned his doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers Dental School) and then went on to complete a four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York.
It was there that he received the “resident of the year” award two years in a row. Dr. Gelband had the opportunity to treat patients at both Northport V.A. Medical Center and Stony Brook University Hospital (which is a level one trauma center). His extensive training encompasses a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. Dr. Gelband is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also an attending at Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he participates in both patient care and resident education.
